I had a season like that.
And in the years I spent trying to make sense of it, I found Frankie Shep.
When I started writing her story, I didn’t realize it would take more than one book to tell it. Because healing doesn’t happen all at once, and it rarely happens when we expect it to.
Frankie’s story begins in a place of loss. She’s a Wyoming rancher who’s tragically lost her husband and son. Before that, her parents disappeared, decades apart. Instead of leaning into God, she pulls back.
She keeps her world small. Controlled. Safe. After all, if she doesn’t let anything in… nothing else can be taken from her.
But her story doesn’t stay there.
She’s forced into circumstances that strip that control away completely. Situations where stopping isn’t an option, and survival means more than just staying alive.
And over time, she begins to face what she’s spent years holding at a distance.
Including her faith.

And just when she begins to believe she might have something to hold onto again, everything is put at risk.
Healing doesn’t mean the struggle is over. It means learning how to stand when it is.
Frankie’s story was never meant to be told in a single moment. It’s a journey. From loss, to survival, to healing.
And now you can experience all three books together.

Frankie’s story starts with grief and regret, and with each new challenge, she chooses to move forward, to find restoration when she didn’t believe she deserved it.
If you haven’t met Frankie yet, this is a perfect place to begin.
Warmly,
Karen
