Meet David Carter
When you first meet David Carter in Naomi’s Legacy, you may not know what to think. He’s intelligent, methodical, and quick to see solutions others miss, but he’s also made mistakes that dramatically changed the course of his family forever. As he joins the Naomi Carter Foundation, David must decide whether the past will define him—or whether redemption is something that has to be lived, one choice at a time.
David believes that doing the right thing isn’t always the same as doing the easy thing. He values honesty over appearances, persistence over recognition, and earning trust rather than demanding it. Even when forgiveness seems out of reach, he keeps showing up, determined to become the man he’s always wanted to be.
Having worked for a nonprofit for many years, I knew people like David—people whose past mistakes forced them to start over and earn back trust. Their resilience and determination inspired many aspects of his character.
I enjoyed watching David grow as I wrote. Redemption stories have always resonated with me because they remind us that our worst decisions, no matter how devastating, don’t have to be the final chapter. David’s story isn’t about becoming perfect. It’s about learning that lasting change is built through humility, accountability, and the courage to keep moving forward.
