Let’s Go to Paris!

Amazon Charts #1 New Release

Book 2, Kayla Walsh Mystery-Suspense Trilogy

Go with Kayla and Martin as their quest for justice takes them to Paris, where disturbing memories hound Kayla, until she finally remembers the entire attack inside her home in Washington, D.C. She learns her parents’ murder was an assassination, not your everyday home invasion. And she and Martin have walked right into the killer’s lair. But that doesn’t stop Paris from working its magic. They declare their love just before Martin sacrifices himself to save Kayla. A friend’s betrayal may turn deadly, and she outruns many attempts on her life. She knows where she needs to head next, but she won’t leave without Martin. One early reviewer put it this way: “Phew! What a ride!”

Amazon Charts Ranking

Thanks for making Nowhere to Hide a bestseller!

Book 1 in the Kayla Walsh Mystery-Suspense series showed up on the bestseller charts in both the Amateur Sleuths and Mystery Series categories in January, and it came close in the Women’s Crime Fiction category! If you were one who helped get it there, thank you so much for making this my most successful book launch.

These stories took three years, several meetings with experts, and five rewrites to get out to the public. I’m encouraged by the positive reviews. Readers seem to enjoy the romance developing between Martin and Kayla. One Amazon reviewer wrote:

“This book is awesome. It has it all: suspense, action, drama, and the beginning of a romance. What more could you ask for in a book?”

Excerpt From No One to Trust

The man sneered when she veered toward a brick wall.

“Give up now,” he mocked. “before you smash that pretty face on the wall at the end of this dead end.”

With Jessica’s coaching as a guide, she searched for a foothold. Leaping toward a jutting brick, she repeated the words Jessica said the day Kayla finally made it to the top and over.

“You’re ready for this, girlie.”

As Jessica had instructed, Kayla’s initial foothold was hip-high. Just the ball of her foot. Jessica would encourage her forward and up.

Pump upward with your legs and arms, Jessica had taught Kayla. It’s like riding a bike, but harder.

At the top, she grabbed the railing and pulled with all the strength Jessica had insisted Kayla work into her arms. She vaulted into a cement hallway.

“What the hell,” the pursuer yelled. He skidded into the wall.

“Hide,” Kayla whispered.

She tried to open a door. It was locked. All the doors were.

At a staircase, she slid down the metal banister on her thigh. Landing sure-footed onto an asphalt parking lot, she sprinted between cars.

The guy rounded the corner. He spotted Kayla and took off after her.
