With the rollout of my clean romantic suspense book, Into the Fog, September was a whirlwind of a month! If you haven’t had a chance to get your copy, or read it for free on Kindle Unlimited, you can do that here. It’s about two friends running into the fog and one disappearing. Things go downhill from there.
If you like the book, I’d be honored if you’d leave a review to let others know what you liked about it.
Read a Deleted Scene
The first draft of Into the Fog introduced MJ and Josh during a tornado. Beta readers convinced me to write a different opening scene, but I offer it for you to read it. Then come back to claim an inspirational gift.

Writing Into the Fog forced me to think a lot about what it takes to be truly happy after a major tragedy in your life. I concluded that it means loving the life we have, not the one we dreamed of years ago. Letting go of the hurts and disappointments of the past is key to finding that happiness. I don’t know about you, but I could use a reminder that to be happy means to love the life I have.
I created a wallpaper for my phone to remind me to love the life I have. Maybe you can find inspiration in it also. If you like, feel free to download this PNG image to your phone. In your settings, you can make it your wallpaper.

Kate Robinson needed the help of a good doctor and she was convinced she’d found him. After all, Dr. Mark Bridges was entering his twentieth year of practice and knew what he was doing. Or did he? Dr. Bridges had no idea that the couple walking into his office that day would change his life and his practice forever. And who would he gave to answer to?
When Amish children turn 16, their rules change. They’re encouraged to explore “worldly” activities before returning to the church. This rite of passage is called rumspringa, roughly translated “running around.” But Matilda King doesn’t want to run around. She only goes to satisfy her friend. Then goes from Matilda to Mattie and meets an older boy. Can she say goodbye? And to whom?
As a voracious reader, I’m always on the lookout for good, clean books. I especially love finding new authors in Kindle Unlimited. I recently explored a genre I was wary about after dipping my toe in a couple decades ago. What a pleasant surprise to learn that authors of contemporary Christian thrillers pit authentic-sounding people with real-world issues as much as I do! If you think you’d enjoy exploring books that are gritty, and the characters of full of flaws but find redemption at the end, here are several for you to choose from:
And here are some others in all sub-genres of mystery.
