Why I Loved It
Robin has a talent for creating characters that feel real — people you’d want to have coffee with (or in Ford’s case, cautiously approach and maybe offer a home-cooked meal). Brooklynn is brave, optimistic, and has just the right amount of sass, while Forbes is one of those brooding protectors who slowly wins you over. Their chemistry is natural and clean, and I appreciated how both characters carried emotional wounds that made their eventual trust in one another feel earned.
The suspense is intense, with a few twists I didn’t see coming, and the faith thread is meaningful without feeling preachy. Robin’s ability to weave hope and redemption into a fast-paced plot is one of the reasons I keep coming back to her books.
