BREAKING: I Left My House!
This may not sound like breaking news to you, but me getting out of the house is big news to anyone who knows me and my stay-at-home ways. I attended the Blue Ridge Writers Conference in North Carolina, and stopped in Georgia to visit my sister, her family, and their 5 horses and 3 dogs on their ranch. What fun!
Networking? Oh my!
Making new connections is a big part of any conference, but many of us writers tend to be introverts who would rather watch from the sidelines as others network. I stretched myself and met one of my favorite authors, Lynette Eason (on the left). She’s written over 60 books with more than 3 million sold. Made my trip for me!
Won an Award!
The conference honored me with second place in the romantic suspense category for the 2023 Selah awards! We got all dressed up, and I had to re-learn how to walk in high heels as I made my way across to the stage to accept the award for Into the Fog, book one in my Peach Blossom Romantic Suspense series.

Enjoy Historical Fiction?
Someone suggested I try historical fiction for a change, and I’m so glad I did! Storm Clouds Rolling In chronicles the struggles of a spirited plantation owner’s daughter while the Civil War begins to swallow America. As an added bonus to the great story, I learned a lot about the culture of the American South.
