Yesterday, Beneath His Lies released into the world, and it felt different than my previous book releases.
Ten years ago, this story was my debut novel. Back then, I wasn’t sure I was creative enough to write an entire book. I knew I could communicate—journalism trained me well—but storytelling? Sustaining tension and emotion across three hundred pages?
That felt like a leap. But I wrote it anyway. Not because I was confident. But because I couldn’t ignore the pull to try.
Yesterday marked the release of my twenty-first published book.

Sometimes I sit with that number and let it surprise me.
Over the past year, I rewrote this story almost entirely, not because it wasn’t finished the first time, but because I see the world differently now. I understand long marriages differently. Betrayal differently. PTSD differently—especially after a decade of living alongside it and learning what strength and struggle can look like behind closed doors.
Time deepens a writer.
This version carries more nuance. More emotional honesty. More compassion for every character on the page.
Seeing it step into the world again felt less like a launch and more like closing a circle. So I simply want to say thank you.
